[The sound of footsteps can be heard. Back and forth, back and forth. The surviving member of the Basement Crew is pacing.]

To place a heart within a fallen Nobody's empty chest...Hmph.

And still, the monster behind these killings continues to run rampant. [A snort, then nearly inaudible,] Apparently even the so-called protectors cannot handle it ( Read more... )

Can nothing be done to help?

Oh, yes, this new place is quite nice in comparison. This is the first time I've ever seen the real sun.

It seems like many residents are searching every nook and cranny of the city. There are only so many places to hide, of course.

Oh? It is hard to imagine a place in a worse state than World's End.

I think I'll try to help as well...but better, to keep watch. If the whole city is under watch, then someone should see something.

It was... The concept is a little hard to imagine, I'm afraid. It was once a beautiful city, though.

Despite the search, more bodies were discovered today. I would suggest avoiding solitude.

That is how many cities begin. A shame, really.

I'm not an official protector around here, but we're doing everything we can. And when we find the son of a bitch, we'll take him down.

...What's a Nobody?

Certainly. Surely our suspect will have to turn up again eventually.

A being who lacks a heart.

And we'll be ready. Or at least, I will be.

How's that possible? ...Ha, you probably get asked that all the time, don't you?

Wait. Is Zexion-

I would hope that anyone would be ready, if they do not wish to succumb to a similar fate.

As long as we have a body and a soul, we are able to function. We do, but I can imagine that it is a difficult concept to understand, to those with hearts.

Yes. I see he has kept rather quiet about it, hm?

The city that you came from was less than desirable as well, I take it?

Rapture was used to bein' paradise, if you can believe it, laddie. Ryan's dream come true, well, it all wen' to hell in a hand basket pretty quick.

..."Laddie". [Unamused Vexen is unamused.]

Oh, I can believe it. Utopias...while a wonderful concept, they almost never turn out as intended. How did Rapture meet its demise, if you don't mind my asking?

Seems like it'll have to suit us, same as the rest of you, won't it? One people, one trouble heap. While this killer-on-the-loose business is unsettling, my neighborhood back in Rapture wasn't exactly cakewalk safe in the best of times.

Correct. There is no leaving now, unless the gods see it fit to send you back.

Oh? Do tell.

Well now that I've got Eleanor here, I don't see why I'd ever fix to go back down.

What's there to say worth telling, about the Drop? It's where you end up when you've hit rock-bottom, the place they scuttle off all the hardworking folks who never saw their promised fortune from the sweat of their brow...the folks denied the Rapture dream.

Eleanor? Ah, that must be the young woman I spoke with.

And so, the thin veil of wealth and freedom gives way to the unfortunate reality. It happens in every world, I suppose.

Just how do we stop your replica from turning into Sora?

Xion, not the one who's a copy of Riku.

And you know exactly what is happening...how?
