I'm Jen McNulty. I'm a soldier and live on the base here in Chesterstead.
I grew up outside of here, but I always knew I wanted a physical job. Mum got upset when I chose to be a soldier, but really, who listens to their parents?
The base is old and small, but they've just renovated it to host soldiers. We can work out here (I love playing soccer) and study, but we work outside of town so we get picked up every morning.
Some that live just in my barracks have lived here for many years. We're not allowed to move out until we're at least Commanders, but a lot basically stay here forever. Something about living with friends.
The rooms are really tiny, but it's not as if I spend much time in mine.
Time on base is mostly spent working out, working on different skills and hanging with my colleagues.
I worked hard and loved it. Being a soldier is truly my thing; loads of outdoors and great friends. We have so much fun! When we aren't working we're just goofing around, haha!
After a few years on base I've come to some sort of routine. I work, I get home, I eat and talk with my friends and then I study. My mum tries to call sometimes, trying to get me to care about the lives of my cousins and siblings and their married lives and their kids and GAH! I just couldn't care less. That's why I left, to not get stuck and just end up married with 3 kids. It's not my thing.
I like it here.
Musico is basically the only place to hang if you want to go out here in Chesterstead. But hey, it's way better than were I'm from; drinking in the forest with your peers like when you we're 15 isn't really that awesome after 20.
I usually meet a lot of interesting people there and it's good to not only hang with my fellow soldiers all the time.
Ugh, it was so embarrassing; I'd forgotten to bring the crisps for a picnic we'd decided to have with the platoon. So I decided later (after a few drinks) to enter a dancing competition to well, compensate, but I lost and it was really embarrassing! But it's a good story now, haha.
The guy next to me loves hosting parties. It's great fun, sometimes, but not every other night!
Yeah, Anya. We had been hanging out quite a lot there for a while. I wouldn't, uhm, call it dating, but maybe it was because it was always only the two of us, haha.
But yeah, I really did like her.
And she seemed open for my advances :)
We've been dating for quite some time now. We're not officially a couple, but we aren't dating any one else. I don't know yet if she's like "the one", but I really like being with her.
I've worked hard and I am now, a few years after coming here, a Junior Officer. I have to keep on working out and strengthening my body and also study. It takes time but I hope I'll still have time left to hang out with Anya more.
Notes
- aakldhkshkapowrowru! I LOVE JEN! She's so pretty and so much fun to play!
- AND SHE'S DATING ANYA by
maranatah! And it's a 3-bolter! I had planned for Jen to "date around"; but yeah, she met her 3-bolter at once, haha.
- I think I'll post a tiny update with pictures from the base, to let you know how it looks.
- This is the chance card that had to do with the dancing:
