Chesterstead w 3: The Dawes
Narratded by Adam Dawes
Our lives have taken such a turn, I realise sometimes. Eve is more or less a stay-at-home mother; something that would never have happened before. Joseph is a completely normal child; we who joked about how "damaged" we were.
Musico is doing really good, Eve goes there some days and people in the neighbourhood loves the place.
But of course we both still remember and at night I do dream of the times before Chesterstead.
I know we both try not to let it haunt us, and Eve really loves this life. As do I.
Maybe that was why we decided one night to have our own romantic evening and get married, to sort of tell each other that we would be here for each other; both during the good days and the bad. Since we were already married according to the fake papers we'd made before moving here we couldn't have a proper one. But we didn't need one either. This was just wonderful.
To see a child of mine grow up was something I had never really believed I would experience. But suddenly years had run by and it was time for Joseph to grow up and start school.
He looks a lot like his mother, I think. It's sad that my work as a Gamer keeps me away from him so much.
Eve and Joseph worked hard on turning the little nursery into a proper room for him. But he was very happy with the result!
We had a burglary one night! It felt really upsetting knowing someone had managed to sneak in to steal things! We did double-check our security systems after that. Maybe we'd been slacking off after years of not having any trouble and no indication of anyone knowing about our whereabouts.
Joseph was really upset though and we had to work hard to calm him down.
Joseph made soem friends in school, which felt great. He's always been so happy with just hanging with us that I was beginning to worry. Eve just thinks he's a philosophical little guy.
We got a little kitten, Joseph had been nagging us about it for some time. We probably won't be having any more kids, but we figured a kitten couldn't be too much work.
Eve brings Joseph to Musico during the weekends, and he really loves it there! And the customers think he's a lot of fun.
Life here is good for us; and I try not to dwell on dark memories.
I need to remember that there were good moments too.
Notes
- It was a pain to set up those memory-caps. Luckily I have the Dawes in another hood as well, so I just used those. But there were pose-boxes and cheat codes involved, haha.
