Author's note: I liked this story when I began writing it, but then I sort of lost the spirit so... it's not even finished.

"Goodmorning Captain... and the Commander!", Neelix sounded, as usual, happy and awake. "What can I offer you two, then?", and before they could answer he countinued: "Let me guess. For the captain: A cup of coffee and... a Neelix super- sandwich with cheese. And the Commander.... Hmm.... I know: A cup of tea and...."
"Just an ordinary sandwich, please." the Commander filled in, afraid of what the chef might have prepared for him otherwise.
"Oh, okay then." The talaxian turned to Janeway. "Something you would like to add to your menu?" She smiled and said:
"No thank you, Neelix. A sandwich and coffee is alright for me." She and Chakotay walked towards a free table in the outskirts of the mess hall. Janeway still had her smile on and didn't looked like if she were prepared to drop it, something was amusing her. Chakotay who'd watched her for some minutes by now started to smile too and had to ask her:
"What is it that is so funny?"
"These people. They don't know. I just thought how they would react if they found out..."
"That their Captain and Commander spend their night together?" She looked a little frightend about him saying out loud so her answer were more or less a whisper when she answered:
"Exactly." Oh that voice, he thought. The last night that voice had told him that she loved him, it had whisperd sweet words in his ears and it had been efficiently silenced by his kisses. He couldn't really understand that they had been together the whole night. They had talked and kissed and talked and kissed and... He hissed happily. After all those years, she'd finaly decided to tell him how she felt. His little Kathryn, he thought, now truly his...
"Here's your breakfast. You two look like if you haven't had much sleep, do we give you that much work?" Neelix said, unaware of how it started them.
"Oh, no Neelix don't worry. Both me and the Commander are fine." Kathryn always knew how to deal with every situation. The talxaian gave them a smile and left when he saw young Naomi Wildman enter the door. Chakotay and Kathryn began to eat their sandwiches, during silence. They really hadn't got any sleep last night, but Janeway didn't mind. Not at all. Though, of course, she knew that she couldn't aloud her work to be interfered like that too often. But yestarday... well, she guessed that her smile describe it very well. She looked at Chakotay on the otherside of the table. He was so sweet, so strong, so wonderfull. She loved him, she'd done that for years but she'd been to proud to admitt it, even for herself.
"Looks like if the Captain is having the time of her life, or what do you say?" Tom Paris asked B'Elanna when he sat down by her.
"Maybe it's her birthday?" B'Elanna said, more like a joke than anything she really belived in. Harry, who'd just joined them said:
"Or she's just overworked. Doesn't seems like if neither she or the Commander has had much for a sleep." B'Elanna and Tom looked at eachothers, thinking exactly the same thouhgt.
"Not enough sleep, you said..." Tom looked at Harry who first didn't really got it but then said:
"Oh, you don't think that..."He loked doubtful "Yes, you do think that..." B'Elanna started to giggle and Tom had a big grin on his face. Harry looked more chocked than amused which made B'Elanna giggle even more. When she'd calm down she said:
"Well, there's always been something between those two but... Hey Harry we just joked!" Then she started to laugh and so did Tom. The thought of the Captain telling the Commander that she'd feelings for him was, well, maybe not amusing, but so far away that they just couldn't imagine it.

Janeway and Chakotay had finished their meals and they had all lot of work to do, especially if they were about to pretend that they'd been up all night working, not kissing. They went out in the corridor and began to move towards the captains room. They weren't talking but exchanging looks that made them smile. Janeway had a huge lafter inside her and it just waited for her to release it. Chakotay, who walked beside her, watched her and smiled when he saw her happy smile. She looked at him and blushed and he felt that he eagered to tuch her, to embrase her and to look into her beautiful blue eyes. But he knew that she wouldn't liked if he did it, not here and not in her quarter. They needed to work, this ship didn't runned itself she'd told him during their breakfast. As if he didn't knew that! The last evening she had been so worried about this interfering their work that she nearly had told him to leave. She worked far too much, he thought. But then he looked at her smile and decided not to worry.

The door chimmed behind them as they walked towards her desk.
"We better start to look at these reports, Commander." she suggested. He realized that calling him by his title was a way for her to keep out of loosing control over the situation. She was extremely aware of that they had work which had to be done. They sat down by the table and began to read an engineering report from B'Ellana.
