So, I creeped on you ... because whenever I see someone asking for fic I might like on storyfinders I have this surge of curiosity that they may have written something I want to read. Normally I lurk away again but I read this post and I am just so, so, so, very much in agreement with all your points that I thought I would comment, 'cos it gets kinda scary saying anything about Cas elsewhere. Like you I loved his character in 4, 5 and even 6 but his continued resurrection is beginning to grate on me - because his arc seemed over for me too. For me it is cheapening the great impact he had originally. Maybe the writers are going somewhere and I'll be proven wrong, but right now, *meh* For the same reason, I feel no compulsion to see Balthazar or Gabriel again despite the fact that I adored them.
Phew, well *cough* That felt good to share *runs away again*

And I've also poked around a bit at your LJ, and snagged the Christmas Tree 'verse for reading - I'm a total sucker for mistreated!Jared and comfort!Jensen. And I'm sorta glancing over at your Mine 'verse, but then it's sorta scary, because, well, the BDSM-theme, it's just not really my thing in fic, y'know? But the summary is sooooo enticing... *wrings hands in indecision*

kinda scary saying anything about Cas elsewhere - I know, right? And I honestly don't get why. But, yeah, I, too, tread my way cautiously around this fandom - after stumbling into some of the discussion boards way back when I was inexperienced and just had to read all the threads I came across))))

Maybe the writers are going somewhere and I'll be proven wrong this is my mantra for S8 so far, and I've been resorting to it at various points of every episode since ep 8.01, which is like a record for me

Sometimes I have to remind myself that I watch virtually no television so anything which is capable of keeping my attention for 45 minutes is very, very engaging (I generally average 2 hours TV a week if SPN is on and it will rise to 3 if SPN and Being Human are on in the same week) - however many plot points I may itch to fix Supernatural still entertains me totally for the time and I am excellent at disassociating an episode from the story arc and just enjoying it. The again, I have been known to write fix-it fic to make it better too
