As you would tell me, it is his true loss. Doesn't mean it doesn't hurt. This person who you were once so close to, who once knew your every dream and desire, basically gave up. It wasn't important enough to maintain the friendship for him to do the work. Convinced this person was going to be a lifelong confidant and coming to the bitter realization that it just wasn't as meaningful to them. Yeah. It SUCKS. And it HURTS. I am so very sorry.
