They say no battle plan survives contact with the enemy. I think I damn well proved that today ( Read more... )

In a Quiet Place somewhere far or near, perhaps Puzzlebox or Outbox or nowhere at all...a statue of a dog, sculpted from clarity and light, twists and whimpers in his sleep. He turns restlessly onto his side, reaching out to embrace someone who isn't there...who has, in fact, never been farther away. His hands find, instead, a plush doll: a vixen in black, with hair like silken ice. Glasslike arms draw the toy to his chest; with stitched arms outstretched, it seems to cling to him in return. Slowly, the curious statue drifts into stillness, but even in sleep, a look of troubled determination is etched into his features, and he clutches that doll as tightly as if his very tomorrow were buried within its stuffing.

Aurorae ripple silently above the sleeper...

o/He's watching me watching you watching him watching me.
I'm watching you watching him watching me watching Stares.
He's watching me watching you watching him watching me.
He's watching me watching you watching the trains go by.
He's watching me watching you watching him watching me./o

And so, Lysette watches, watches more than she should be able to. This wouldn't have been a problem if she had finished repairs before hand. But to touch not only on her pets, but on so much more than she can say here is beyond her physcial ability to maintain - and she does it anyhow.

Maybe Lysette will compare notes with this watcher when he comes to deal with debts owed.

Ah, Neke Pri'yath. Atcinna tells me she spawned 'Nita's little sister herself, crafted to perfectly mate with the shiny's mind from nothing more than a few stray cells left on a teacup and scent-cues. She would have given subtle messages to the neonates Xictyn and Maygia, cues of biology and growth...

Between Gestalt sisters, Ataxia and Lupe -

I/Ataxia wonder if she'll ask for help while she can still ask for help.

If she doesn't, we could still go see her. I/Lupe was created by the Chitin Queens, though what house is unsure. Maybe there's something to that.

I/Ataxia am taking you to see Beta first, now that you're awake, again, though. She'll help you deal with things, like she helped me. That's why you don't feel you presently have to rush in and bite off everyone's head, as much of a release as it may be.

That's right, we can always just bite off Beta's head if we need to, right Ataxia/Sister?

And more than I can say, Lupe/Sister.

Amongst the roots of the Ovon, huge, liquid-filled pods churn, uncountable molecules meeting and rearranging in an endless computational dance, seeking answers. Until yesterday they sought the key to Seaya's self-imposed imprisonment, to decrypt the lost daughter's backup.

Now, they receive a new bath of writhing proteins: encrypted data signals, captured by radiocells in the walls and vines of a certain holding chamber...

Also, for the record, I AM SO FUCKING LOST. :D

Well. Not so much so now that I've managed to get through most of the logs, but gah!

I can detail *everything* for you, if you'd like, as I've had my foot in everything within and without! God, its Byzantine surely even to the Byzantines at this point!
