Oh, Ray. Such a smart way to go at it, while his heart is breaking that the other way didn't work for Fraser, even with Ray himself. Ouchy.

Thanks, Spuffyduds. He's not proud of what's going on, that's for sure.

You realize, every time you write one of these things, it makes me come closer to the dark side of Due South.

Fraser can go right on living in that perfect Chicago of his. I’ll be watching his back from this one.

Oof. This line especially packed a punch, though I loved it all. Loved Ray for getting Fraser help, using whatever he had to to get results. And love that he'll never let on what he said to do it, that he'll let Fraser keep his Chicago in his head.

I (just like Fraser) assumed that the officers were acting against Warfield because it was the right thing to do - until this week, when I started thinking it through. Thank you for the comment, mizface!

Kapow! A haymaker from RayK fells the opposition.

Stella would be awed.

Brilliant work!

Worth the rewrites. :)

Huh. You know, I think you're right. Stella has certainly used a jury's worst instincts to get them to convict, and I'm sure she'd be delighted to see Ray pulling this off. Ray, however? He'll do it, because it needs doing. But he's not proud of it.

You know what? I don't think Stella would be proud of herself in that circumstance, either. She'd be satisfied that she'd done the right thing in a bad situation. I keep thinking of her face when Dwayne the bomber confronts his ex-wife on the steps of the courthouse, or when she realizes Orsini has deceived her and broken the law. She's a good person, and she does what she has to do to maintain the right. Hm. No wonder Ray adores her. He's got a thing for those types. :)

Huh. Sadly, I have no Stella icon. :(
