I enjoyed this, particularly the structure and the set-up. And the writing is lovely. (But I wish you'd let me beta, because the end doesn't quite match what I envisioned as I read the beginning. You are probably glad you didn't. :-)

Thank you, Isis! This is the one I was bitching about over at wrisomifu, that appeared in my head as a play. It made for some interesting limitations.

If the vision you have for the ending is strong enough to tempt you into writing a remix, or an alternate ending, I would really love to read it!

Oooo... harsh. And yet, Ray doesn't have a lot of choices, trying to keep "Armando" alive. This is a sort of tough love, harder on Ray than Armando realizes. I imagine him crouching there at the end, wondering if he's done enough, if he went too far, whether Vecchio will make it, all sorts of not happy thoughts.

Interesting bit where Ray didn't want to tell Armando about his qualifications. Eesh.

Y'know, Ray V's going to have to drop that whole thing about shooting Ray for molesting the Mountie, 'cause where I'm coming from the Mountie wants to be molested. Hee hee.

*nods* Its all done with the best of intentions. And that's a very not-happy Ray at the end.

This story doesn't necessarily exclude any pairing later on. It just makes it all that much more difficult. And poor Vecchio, with these deeply unclean lessons about what it means to touch and touched by another man.

Yeah, I think I want to read this, get the reality of it firmly fixed in my head, and then go watch CotW from that perspective. Methinks things would look a bit different.

Who knows, maybe someday I'd go further with it. Right now, I'm just glad to get it out of my head.
