Thank you, Ride, I'm glad you were up for a swerve sideways from reality with me. The correction is MUCH appreciated - working without a beta's tricky, and knowing I can rely on readers to point out errors is very relaxing.

My beta brain never shuts off when it comes to noting something that I would fix if I were the beta for the piece. I have, however, learned the hard way (when someone defriended me on LJ because I made a "spontaneous beta remark" about a typo) to never offer unsolicited beta-type remarks.
