hi! first, can i just say how much i love the tiny doodle in the top left corner? it's got a load of personality and it looks like half the thumbnails i start out with, so you've definitely got the right idea.

i like how you did get all the ellipticals for the well--it gives it depth and looks 3-d-ish. you can actually do that for the lady too, if you start with shapes, like ellipses for her shoulder and hips and build her up from there. but honestly, you've got a very challenging perspective there, and humans are @#$%@@!! HARD. i think you did great. (and congrats on your first post!)

I actually quite like the little doodle itself. Thanks! ^_^

Somewhere I have a book about how to build up people from shapes, I should dig that out and try it. (We had art lessons at school and we learned about perspective and so, but unfortunately we only did that for objects and landscapes, not for human beings.)

Thank you!

I'm with Klgaffney, I love the little sketch in the corner where it looks like you were plotting it out. ^__^ Nicely done with the ovals and the bricks in the well, and much sympathy on the woman - people are hard, particularly from the back! I like her braid, too. ^_^

Heeh, I do like the doodle myself. ^_^ (And yes, I was plotting it out there.)

The advantage of drawing people from the back is that you don't have to draw a face. *coughs* ^^; But I have to try out that building people up from shapes to get them 3-D-ish as well.

Thank you!
