This is absolutely horrible. Malkus can't stop feeling as if the very thing that drove him into the woods back home is happening again. Only this plague doesn't just kill anyone who succumbs to it, but is much worse.

The doctor will be found running absolutely aimlessly around the grounds. The only thoughts going through his head are "Fix this. Somehow. Just cure at least one person and it won't all be a failure..". The thing is, Malkus had absolutely no idea how to help anyone with the Black Death and is twice as clueless when it comes to this. Perhaps Jael will stumble upon him at the edge of the lake? Surely he could use a helping hand gathering leeches. You could almost hear the panicked sobs being muffled under his mask.

Unfortunately for Malkus, Jael eventually manages to find her way out to the lake. She wanders down towards the shore and stops abruptly several yards away from Malkus when she hears the sobbing. Even from the distance she is at, the sobbing is loud enough to her superhuman hearing to catch her attention.

If he turns and sees her, he might notice the strangely blank look on her face. So far Jael has been rather non-violent, but that will all change soon enough.

Although the doctor has been cautiously glancing over his shoulder rather often, Jael's sudden appearance catches him off guard.

"O-Oh, ma'am! Y-" He gives a sniff, trying not to sound as if he's been weeping, "You frightened me. A-Are you alright? I-...I assure you I've not been infected. J-Just- one moment, perhaps you could help me gather up some of these lake-leeches? I-It'd make my work go by much faster. Th-Then we could head back to shelter-"

His voice wobbles and waves, despite doing his best to sound calm. He turns his head back down to his bag, pulling some of the lake grass and tossing it in. He motions her over.

Bad move, Malkus. Jael's lips pull back into a silent snarl, and without warning she sprints at Malkus.

He might be lucky enough to hear her footsteps draw close a lot faster than they should be and her rasping breath before she suddenly lunges at his back, hands coming up to claw at his head.

Barricades were all well and good. But even soldiers had to eat sometime. He'd left Shepard to man the walls while he'd gone to collect some rations. She could handle it. But all the same, he wanted to get back to her as soon as he could.

He'd stopped, just for a second, to get his bearings, and remember the way back to the tower Shepard had claimed. His hands were full, the rifle stowed against his back.

If Jael were sane she would be fascinated by Garrus. As she is now, all she sees is prey.

Jael has been stalking around the Keep looking for new prey after her last one managed to score a good hit and flee. So when she spots someone standing still, Jael takes the opening and sprints towards Garrus.

He might hear her running up behind him before she takes a flying leap at his back.
