These cuffs, while not troubling, were certainly strange. They'd simply appeared in the middle of the night and refused to be removed, no matter how Rem shifted his form. The key didn't even go to them!

He didn't particularly want to be anywhere near Hawke's pet. But... his friend had a problem. And if he could solve it, without them trekking through the wilderness, possibly into whatever passed for this place's version of the Deep Roads, so much the better.

Which was why the mage was currently rummaging in the library, strange metal bracelets be damned. Handcuffs.

Whatever they were.

It was only a matter of time, really, before Rem encountered Anders. He walked every section of this library, every day. His footsteps silent, as always, Rem rounded a corner with a stack of books in his arms.

And then he was tugged chained-wrist-first towards Anders, the books spilling forth as his balance was broken.

He was perfectly content to ignore the passerby. Chances were, if he did, it wouldn't rouse Justice, and then everyone could just go about their business without a screaming match. Or worse.

But then his hand jerked toward the other, before he could stop it.

In seconds, the extra linked itself around Anders' free wrist and sealed there. But while the cuff stopped there, Rem had still been thrown forward by the momentum -- and he was on a crash course straight for Anders.
