The book was closed and tossed onto his bed, writing utensil shortly following. Odd, how dark and dank this place was - it reminded him eerily of his own lair - and that sent a pang through him as he left his room, shutting the door with a click behind him.

But - there wasn't time to think about that now. He had things to see and learn - especially about this thing called 'magic' and it's user.

The points of his cape are flicked just so - it's all about presentation, isn't it? A villain needs class and some semblance of manners, despite thinking to the contrary ( ... )

Chase opened one eye when he heard the pigeons panic their way into the air, glancing about for whoever had upset them. And he'd been right: black leather, even a cape with a high (almost too high) collar, every inch designed for the Ultimate Diabolical look. If he'd been anywhere but this place he would have assumed Spicer had decided to upgrade his look ... until he got a look at the face shrouded by the collar.

Blue. Human (mostly, the shape of the skull said otherwise), but blue. Already Chase had seen gray children with horns and a glimpse of an alien creature scarred and grayish, but blue was a new one. He opened both eyes to properly appraise the man, trying to hold back the surprise at his eralization that he was dealing with someone so ... differentMegmand, incredibly handsome criminal genius. If they really did come from different worlds, at least some things never changed ( ... )

Chase Young?

Chase Young?

His nose wrinkled and he gave a properly disdainful look.

“Chase Young? What kind of a name is that?! That’s hardly menacing or evil sounding at all.” His eyes flick over the individual, taking in the armor. “If you’re truly aspiring to be a master of all evil, you need some work.”

Carefully stepping his way over, Megamind carefully appraised what actually lay outside the perimeter of the wall. Certainly nowhere Near Metrocity, this seemed to be something pulled right from the pages of some nonsensical and useless storybook.

It was going to take some doing to get himself out of this particular pickle.

He had to wonder if this had something to do with his attempts at Time Travel, or the Reset button

Smothering a horrified bubbling in his gut, he turned to his tower companion, steepling his fingers.

“Now then. Where were we?”

Some work? The amiable expression dropped into a steely scowl immediately.

"It's the kind of name that doesn't have to be blatantly menacing because I've built up a reputation around it so that its very mention inspires terror in all who speak or hear it," he said, more sharply than he'd intended. Who was this ostentatious brat to declare that he, who had lived fifteen centuries, needed work? It was practically an offense.

Chase watched as Megamind looked out over the edge of the wall at the empty world beyond. It was probably as foreign to him as it was to Chase; in that kind of getup, he'd probably never been very far outside his undoubtedly highly technological evil lair for more than a few hours at a time. And then the man turned back, hands together, and Chase raised an eyebrow in derision.

"We were preparing to discuss our methodology." He smiled, but it was brief and never reached his eyes. "Feel free to go first."
