It was amazing how much work was necessary for a small get together, but also how quickly and easily it went with the help of another person. Especially when that person happened to be on staff

Is that a young troll full of anger and aggression making his way for the party people? It is! This is a rather unusual sight for anyone who knows Equius, and even if you don't it's still quite obvious by the look on his face that he isn't here to enjoy himself.
No, there's no fun allowed for this brute tonight, as he's here to mainly get a sense of just who else is at this Keep. Equius is simply standing off to the side, staring at each and everyone that passes with a calculating look as if he's judging/determining your strength right there on the spot.
As soon as their eyes met, they knew it was true love.
Equius is hardly paying attention until he blinks, focusing and quickly realizing that he's the one being watched this time. He's remaining silent, narrowing his eyes and putting on a wide frown. This could very well be the most unhappy staring contest ever had.
While he doesn't imagine this party will be anything that the ones she's thrown before, Kevas shows up regardless. After all she did invite everyone and he doesn't want to disappoint her. Kevas doesn't want to lose anymore of the people that he knows, especially since his little episode in front of Vie. That's not a performance he wants to repeat again.
When he arrives, Kevas wanders around the party pausing only for a moment to grab a bottle of liquor. Unfortunately he'll be giving the cupcakes a wide berth. After months of dealing with magic sweets, he doesn't much trust anything he sees at parties besides booze.
Seeing a familiar face in the crowd, Chloe sidles up to Kevas, a drink in hand. She doesn't know what to say to him at first, so instead she remains quiet, nodding and sending a small smile his way.
"Hey."
She won't mention anything if Kevas seems to not want to mention anything. She can avoid certain topics if it means they might have a nice conversation. She didn't know if she could help ease any of his troubles or if things were beginning to look brighter for him, but she found she kind of liked his company.
When Kevas sees her he smiles and tips his hat to her politely. Now that they aren't doing anything dangerous and he's not on a frantic search for his wife he's much more at ease than he was before. Chloe, on the other hand, doesn't seem to be so at ease and he can't help but wonder if there's something else going on now.
"Hey dere girliemon. How joo be doin'?" Kevas asks before taking a swig from his bottle.
Forcing a bit of a smile, Chloe gives a light shrug and looks out over the people milling about.
"I'm no worse than anyone here. Things certainly don't look like they will be getting better any time soon, what with punishments being dealt and--"
And the added horror and hurt that came from loved ones being injured or worse.
Forcing a brighter smile, Chloe adds, "Well, this is nice at least. Being here with friends, and having a chance to get to know each other better." It was relaxing, and Chloe felt everyone deserved that every once and a while.
Kairi wasn't sure the invitation was meant for her, but she didn't want to miss out. She had really liked that last bonfire party, even if the food had been magic. This time she had cajoled Riku into coming with her, so at least she wouldn't be crashing Bryn's party by herself.
She was greeted by the warm glow of the fire and the smell of wood-smoke, but it was the cupcakes that instantly caught her attention. It had been months since she's had cupcakes!
"Oh!" And without another word, she made a beeline for the table.
Riku, on the other hand, wasn't feeling quite so comfortable as they approached the bonfire. He couldn't remember the last time he'd been around so many other people that weren't either bent on attacking him or working for the darkness. In fact...
Kairi was getting away from him.
Riku picked up his pace to keep up with her, following along until they'd made it to the sweets table. "I should've known this would be the first thing you'd find," he said, privately a little bit surprised to find that his lips quirked slightly in a half-smile.
Kairi didn't realize she'd left him behind until she heard him approaching again. His quip had her effortlessly grinning and she turned, holding out a chocolate and buttercream cupcake straight in front of Riku's face, rather than trying to put it in his hand.
"Yes, you should've," She waved the cupcake back and forth, determined he take it, "Come on, you know you want one."
Instinctively, Riku recoiled, taking a full step backward before logic kicked in to inform him that no, he didn't need to react. Then he shook his head, sliding his blindfold down to cover his eyes from where it had been pushed up on his forehead earlier. He'd forgone trying to argue with Kairi when it came to wearing it, but here with so many other people around, he felt uncomfortable, on edge.
Aara hesitated only a small bit along the outer edges of those assembled at the party, dancing lightly on her feet until she finally gathered her courage and simply walked into the throng of people. She admired everything and everyone with avid interest, slowly weaving a path between people and wondering what kind of festivity this would be. Food the likes of nothing she had ever seen was laid out. Aara was more interested in those gathered than the food and drink, however. A soft sigh passes her lips.
This feeling was nice. She felt happy. A part of something.
Ducking her head at such thoughts, Aara smiled down at her feet. This. Even watching this would create memories she would never forget, and would always cherish.
Not realizing that Aara might not have seen him yet, Xanth approached. He had been standing near the food table as he spotted her, and so he carried one cupcake in each hand.
Xanth leaned down to peer at Aara. "Hey," he said with a lopsided grin, then held up a confection. "C--Cake?"

Attention shifting at the familiar voice and tone, Aara turns in slight surprise as she meets Xanth's now-familiar gaze. She smiles, happy to see him, and happier still that he went out of his way to approach her.
"Hello."
Then she is looking at the cupcake with avid interest, and back up at Xanth once more as she tentatievely reaches for it with a slight pinking of her cheeks.
"Thank you..." A larger grin spreads across her lips as her heart flutters and dances within her chest. It was such a pretty color! "What... what is it?" She's holding it close to her chest now, so she definitely likes it, but she had never seen anything like it in her life. A small smile crosses her lips as she peers up at Xanth, eager to find out what this was.
"I-It's-- a c-cupcake," he began. "They're just-- l-little cakes. Nothing t-too fancy."
Then, he realized that maybe Aara didn't have cake in her world, and continued: "A-And, uh-- c-cake is, um, i-it's like... a-a sweet, soft b-bread. It's-- i-it's good, i-if you like s--sweets."

He didn't know the girl throwing the party, but he'd been drawn to it by the promise of drinks available and the potential for some good company. Not that the tavern in the stables tower didn't have plenty of drinks, but he did miss having a bunch of company sometimes. It was so different from being constantly in the Hanged Man.
And, well. Parties tended to be pretty good places to get information. Especially if there was alcohol available.
Varric had grabbed himself a drink from the table, then headed over to the bonfire to stand by it and people observe.
"Why am I not surprised to find you here, Varric?"
Not at all surprised, and definitely pleased. Varric was always a good person to have around. Moreso when there was little else to do besides get drunk and wander around.
Now there's a voice Varric was always happy to hear.
"You know me. Someone mentions drinks, and I'm there."
He turned to grin at Anders, taking a sip from his cup. "It's good to see you here, Blondie." He wasn't fooling himself with his chances to get Anders to have a drink, but at least he was actually at the party.
He smiled faintly, coming to the dwarf's side, his arms folded, idly. It wasn't a bad party. But, honestly, it would be better if he didn't have a spirit yammering in his head the whole time.
"I didn't have anywhere else to be... so why not?"

And looking quite awkward about it. And confused. What's going on what.

"Um... nothing? You are staring."
And then she adds, "it is impolite."
