Oh hon. I'm sorry - I can FEEL your frustration here. And I'm suspecting that's half the issue.
My two cents is that you do the labour, YOU get final choice. I'd make a list of as many names as you can get, slowly work them down to four or five and then just LEAVE IT until the baby arrives. (Do you know it's a boy?)
As to suggestions:
Haaken Liam Soren Alder Anders (don't laugh. I actually LOVE this name) Ward Morgan
I'm not so good with names because all of my name choices were deliberately done to avoid nicknames. I will just pass along *HUGS* and more *PATIENCE* and hope it all works out for you! <3<3<3
Oh sweetie, I just went through this earlier this year. And biggest surprise of all... we were told it was a girl, right up until the day Baby!Bee in all his manly glory arrived (talk about not being prepared-- we ended up staying up until 3am the day after he was born going through baby name sites on the internet like crazy people. We were going on being awake for 36 hours straight at that point. It's a miracle he's not named Springtime Haiku or some such insanity. *g*)
The weirdest thing of all was-- I had a emergency backup boy name picked out, but it didn't fit our little guy AT ALL. So we named him on the fly. And it worked out so much better. So I just say prep as much as you can, but be open to plans not working out (b/c sometimes that's the most awesome way to go.)
But what am I saying? This isn't your first rodeo. You're gonna do great. ; )
But people love babies named Springtime Haiku. LOL
About a week before Hank was born, P looked at me across the table in a panic and asked what we would do if 'the baby' was in fact a girl. I said we'd call her Rose Victoria because I knew someone who had been told they were having a girl and ended up with a boy so I'd been thinking. :)
