This is bull crap. Absolute, complete bullcrap.

May 24 - CONVICTION (Aaron Allston)
August 16 - ASCENSION (Christie Golden)
April - APOCALYPSE (Troy Denning)

Really? It takes that long to put out three books? Seriously. Wtf.

From Sue:

I don't know. I've heard both July and April before. *shrugs* That release date is as of today.

Yes, they really have. So many stupid mistakes and poorly thought out.

What's more angering is that Apocalypse was originally supposed to come out in November. The May and August dates had been like that for ages as far as I know.

But yes, it's highly annoying.

Too stressful? What's stressful is that you're all messing with my characters!

:P

I know, right? Damn Del Rey keeps sending my blood pressure skyrocketing. Stop screwing them over!

What I wonder is what the problem is. Denning did the entire Dark Nest trilogy in a year, I though. I heard two months ago that Sue had the manuscript for Conviction. Something is going on. It's just too fishy sounding. It's not like any of them have never done this before.

It's just...annoying. I don't know, there could be a legitimate problem going on, not just something fishy. I don't know enough about the business to be suspicious or not.

With publishing, speed and quality is important. By delaying publication continuously, they are hurting sales and the fan base. The writing itself takes the longest, of course. Printing doesn't take much time at all. I have no idea what the problem could possibly be, save some major plot problem they just can't solve. Most of the time long push backs happen, something is going on.
