Oh, Karen -- I had completely forgotten about this prompt; I may've squeaked with glee at my desk just now.
SO MUCH LOVE, oh my goodness. I adore how this girls' night out isn't over-the-top ridiculous; it's so real I can see and hear every scene. And augh, your details -- the one about how most of Kate's friends have faded away after Marie's trial? Oh, that got me right there.
Your Lanie is love, and strippers. Buahaha, Kate Beckett, you sly, saucy minx!
And Kate's a bachelorette! B'aww. Thanks so much for writing this, seriously. I loved every word.
Heeeeeee. This is the one thing I have going for me whenever I succumb to the urge to post a prompt meme. "Okay, so I didn't write comment fic for you last time, BUT I STILL COULD! You could be flipping through live journal nine months from now, and bam! Fic for you!" *is stealthy*
Oh. Em. Gee. I almost missed this because there were so many damn recs at het_reccers!
So, it's not that I didn't enjoy the first one, because I did, but I only know Kate Warner so that leaves me at a slight disadvantage.
But the second one. GAH. Oh, the smile it brings to my face:)
I love this:
Sometimes, being with Jack was like being in the eye of a hurricane; stillness waiting for the turbulence to come. Only with him it was the stillness that lasted, the turbulence that blew over quickly.
And this:
and Jack had seen her in--and taken her out of--every dress she had for the occasion. *flailyhands*
And everything about the idea of them having an entire routine in their life together, which is of course exactly how it is. The 24 writers just aren't smart enough to know it, which is their problem, not ours;)
See with a lot of couples routine could be a bad thing, but with these two, at least for a while, it's probably a good thing. They've dealt with enough already.
And I need to post the second one in the J/R comm as well as the 24 fanfic comm, but it'll have to wait for my dinner break. :P
