I HAVE FEELINGS!

I don't normally like to angst on Livejournal (in fact, I detest it), but for whatever reason I feel like sharing today. Gods of the internet, forgive me this trespass.

You know what sucks about being a screenwriter? You work in a medium that in inherently visual, yet you are given only words to work with. The characters, the scenes, exist vividly

I'm not a screenwriter, but I often feel a similar frustration while writing short fiction. I think it's a common feeling, but it's a feeling that seems especially relevant to screenwriting. Everything is hyper-vivid in your brain, but then you have to get it down on paper. It can be hard to make the translation.

I don't think there's really a solution. Just write, write, write. Eventually, hopefully, what's on the paper seems to get a little closer to what's in your head.

And let me know if you ever need an extra reader. Making editorial notes is one of my favorite activities.

Also, this post makes me feel like I need to up the quality/relevance of my own LJ whinging or just cut down on it altogether.
