Countdown to the STAR TREK MEETUP.

Nov 20, 2009 12:15

We're barely 24 hours out from the first large-scale meetup for the Kansas City Star Trek group. (By the way, we're going to need an absolutely flail-tastic and obnoxiously silly serious discussion about a name for our group.) Anyway, to make sure everyone is on the same page, here's our last-minute summary and planning post.

THE PLAN:At 2:00 PM ( Read more... )

Don't worry, it's REALLY easy to follow me back to my place. Very close, almost a straight shot. Mostly, I want to make sure that people who are going directly to my house know how to find it. And it's always good for folks to have my contact number.

YAY SEASON THREE! I... er... have a few possible episodes in mind I'd love to watch. :D

And YAY COOKIES!!! :D

WHOA! his hair looks even more epic than usual there...

OK! Saturday! So do you know where stull church is? is noonish good? i suppose we aught to be more precise than that...

if you want to pilot, i'll bring my nawigation equipment along :) I'll also give you 5 bucks or so for gas. i don't think we'll need to take the turnpike. we can if you want though, it might be faster.

oh, how late are you wanting to stay? doesn't really matter to me, except that i wasn't planning to sleep over, since i have to work sunday.

I was just about to message you, excellent timing. XD I've got Stull pinpointed, I won't have any trouble there. After some fiddling, I figured out how to avoid toll roads on Mapquest, and taking KS-10 only adds like seven minutes to the trip, so it won't be a problem. Bring the GPS, though, I'm more willing to listen to an electronic than a print-out.

Now if we meet up at noon, it's only about an hour between Stull and McCoy's, so we'll be about an hour early. I'm thinking more 1:00, 1:15? Does that work? Mapquest says it's like 40 minutes between my house and Stull, but they underestimate my ability to speed. XD

I'm cool to stay as long as you want, but I don't wanna stay the night either.

yeah, i wasn't sure about the timing, so let's say 1:00. umm... i'll pm you my cell if you want to call or text me for any reason. i'll probably be driving a white buick lesabre if that helps, but i doubt there'll be many cars there.

COOOOOOOOOLLL i'm so excited!

see you then!

DUDE, seriously, if you can bring it, and we can hook it up, we can watch all the special features and extras together. Because I AM going to buy one, but I haven't had time to buy it THIS week. *headdesk*

This is going to be awesome.

I may have to move my TV from the den into the living room though. This is going to be a bigger crowd than I'd originally anticipated! OMG SO EXCITED!!!

Also, my 2nd laptop has S-video out and I have the cable to connect it to RCA on a TV's input. (The yellow/red/white standard plugs that connect DVD players and game systems to standard TVs.) If you have only HDMI inputs, it's a no go, but otherwise I can easily put any digital video from any disc or hard drive up on a big screen.

I have a hard drive containing the entire series of DS9, the entire series of Enterprise, all the Trek films 1-11, and lots of Trek actor previous films like bb Spock's horror film 'Joshua', Nimoy's 'Deathwatch', Anton's 'Charlie Bartlet', and Pine's Princess Diaries 2 and random things like Galaxy Quest and whatnot.

That was a fun time. Next time I will try to actually show up earlier than 8 PM. That will be easier since I just joined here.
