[30 Days of Fic - Day 13] "Initiation"

Michelle's chest heaved and her lungs burned. She struggled against the vice-like hand that dug into the back of her head with fingers like cold iron and forced her under the icy water. She kicked and fought against her captor with every ounce of strength she had left in her. All thought was gone but a relentless desire to breathe. To breathe and to live.
Her bare foot kicked out and she could swear that it hit something soft, but it made no matter. If anything, the hand pushed her further under water. Issac, his name came to her panicked mind as she fought futilely against him. Her naked body quivered and shook, all modesty gone, given up to the fear she felt. A fear that was quickly turning to dread.
With a shudder and a lurch, she breathed in a gulp of water and time slowed; I'm going to die, she thought. It wasn't the first time the thought had crossed her mind since being taken captive, but this time she actually believed it. The aspirated water burned as it hit her lungs, which only made her convulse and draw in more. Time slowed. In the back of her mind, some queer notion about how stupid it was that a body that's eighty-percent water could die from it was offered, but the rest of her mind was too busy dying to notice.
Darkness closed in...
...and gave way to light.
Michelle never felt Isaac let go of the back of her neck, nor her body falling backwards. She was staring at the ceiling lights, free of the pool of icy water but still drowning. Futilely, she tried to cough the water up, but his hand was there again, clamping her nose and mouth shut. Damnit I want to live! her eyes screamed, but they found not a shred of compassion in her tormentor's violet orbs.
"Decide now," a firm female voice called from the surrounding darkness, "drowning is a terrible way to die, love."
She choked on the foul water in her mouth, thrashing desperately in his grip. Slowly, she mastered the convulsion and brought herself under control, hoping against hope that it was the way to salvation. Without a word, Isaac pitched for forward onto her face. It hurt but far less than her lungs. She wretched and expelled the water from her lungs. It seemed to take forever, her lungs and stomach taking turns trying to rid her body of everything foul within it.
After what felt like ages, the cold hands grabbed her by the back of the neck and the chain between her wrists, lifting her up to her knees. Once there, he reached into his back pocket and used a handkerchief to wipe her face. His hands were incredibly gentle then in queer opposition to the strength they had held her with and nothingness she found in his eyes. She shuddered from cold, dropping her chin as the sound of heels echoed across the cement.
"You are alive, pet, by my leave." the woman murmured, standing over her. "Do not change my mind, or I will take my time drowning you, bringing you back and drowning you again until your body is so tired it cannot save itself, do you understand me?" She reached down and grabbed Michelle's chin, drawing her gaze up.
"Yes," Michelle answered with a whimper, her vision still too clouded to make out the woman's features.
"Good, but next time and every time thereafter you will call me Mistress," the woman replied, before she turned her attention to Isaac, " Once more Isaac, to be sure she never forgets the lesson."
Isaac took her roughly then, both of his hands around her neck, pulling her to her feet. The woman retreated into the darkness, "Please no, I'm sorry Mistress!" Michelle begged quietly, her naked body convulsing as he dragged her back to the pool. She thought she heard a door slam, but it may have been in her head as it was shoved back underwater.
