Yes I tried those silicone stretchy lids but I didn’t find they were very easy to use (and I have a lot of rectangular dishes ….). Tin foil works well at least and I can recycle it.
People in London are being very stupid - nightclubs …. Ack.
We are going to look for that wrap. We have had great success wrapping our cheese in the beeswax wrap. We got a really large one for a loaf of bread and it didn’t work and so we cut it down to more cheese wrap supply.
Your man was very sweet and fully masked. He also gave away that his Dad was the same age as us LOL!
I have a box I use for cheese in the ‘fridge that works well and I don’t need to wrap at all. I use a linen bag for bread that seems to keep it fresh (but we don’t have large loaves as I make all our bread so it doesn’t hang around long).
That compostable clingfilm sounds good. We are still using an enormous roll which came from my mother's house. I feel guilty for using it but the alternative is to throw a giant roll away, which seems a waste. When we finally finish it I will look out for the compostable stuff.
The clingfilm works really well. I don’t have much of the regular stuff left but that’s useful for other things (we use it to wrap round brushes if we are decorating) and I’ll not bother getting any more.
Yes, the Government has just waited until they thought everyone was bored of restrictions to enact their original plan to kill off the weak and sickly.
Hopefully all the elderly people are protected but I feel really sorry for anyone not able to have the vaccine for health reasons - and you can still get it even if you’ve double jabbed :(

It's ridiculously hot here too, but our fan makes it tolerable. If we had aircon I'd be tempted to use it, so it's probably as well we don't.
Some of the clips I've seen of people celebrating their "freedom" are just plain ridiculous. We are definitely still masking up.
