Unwrapping a mummy...

Yesterday daiseechain and I went up to the Barts Hospital pathology museum for the Odette Toilette Mummy Unwrapping event. We met up at Farringdon station and walked around to the museum in Barts Hospital, where we were greeted with a choice of either gin, dry sherry or madeira to drink (I had the sherry which was very nice). What an absolutely fantastic event, it sounds fascinating, and I'm glad you both enjoyed it. I love how the mummy sat up at the end :)

We were really impressed that he didn't giggle at all the silly comments such as "this mummy has gilded nipples" and "normally the mummy would be devoid of hair but this one has not been shaved". *snorfle*

Sounds very fun and educational (should you ever want to create or unwrap a mummy). :)

I love the printer's tray on the wall! Wonderful example of repurposing.

It was definitely an unusual evening and very good fun!

Thanks! I'm so glad to have found a genuine antique as there are loads of fakes out there. It's fun that it's from Paris, France too.
