I am loving your London walks as much as you are. Seriously, I am seeing places I roamed for many years several times a year and I must get back to at least some of it while I'm still able!
We did a wall walk some years ago and just following your pictures was reminded of so much I learned back then. For some reason the rather poignant ruins of St. Alphages have stuck in my mind clearly all these years.
Robert Dow was 90 when he died! That's almost unheard of for back then.
I'm glad you're enjoying them too - I find what we learn fascinating and I have a lot more than I post but I'm conscious I don't want to go on and on.... LOL!
I've done part of the wall walk before, but there's more than I was aware of and it was interesting to see that it's so valued these days.
I know! 90 years old is pretty amazing, but he was wealthy, so he would have had a much better diet than the working man and of course a nice warm home.
London never ceases to surprise. I’ve seen the Roman Wall in a number of places before but I’ve never seen that Turkish bathhouse! Many thanks for sharing the tour :)
I think I'm enjoying the walks so much because they are showing me parts of London I wasn't aware of (as I didn't have to go down those roads!). It's certainly very interesting and I'm thinking I'll try and sign up for more walks with the WEA as they are a nice way to spend a couple of hours, but maybe in the Spring or Summer :)
