Thursday started with cloud and sunny spells and continued like that all day (18C/65F at home, and 19C/66F in London). We washed some laundry overnight so that it went out to dry on the line, and then I set off for London to meet up with the WEA group I'm joining for the next few weeks on walks around London

It’s one of those places where I kept turning a corner and thinking “oh - that’s where we are!” Some bits were more familiar than others.
I loved the old words for money - it’s such a shame those have disappeared.

It's very interesting about the Necropolis Railway. I know cemetery overcrowding was a huge problem but I never heard about that particular solution.
I was just thinking what a long walk that was! It's been quite a few years since I was in London last (2016, I think) and I am longing to get back there.

Like you I like that oval window design ... and that naval memorial is stunning.
I enjoy listening to the Underground TV series (the name has gone from me) ... so it's lovely to see the Leslie Green stuff

I kept walking around and suddenly recognising where I was but it’s nice to go round back streets you wouldn’t normally go through.
Secrets of the London Underground is a TV show all about the history of the tube which we enjoy.
