Saturday - with added history!

Friday was reasonable - not too cold and dry. Saturday the weather was like winter with torrential rain all day! It was cold too - barely 14C/57F. However we had decided to visit lots of interesting places so it wasn’t too bad. I’ll split these up as I have lots of photos

I like the cellarium…and that framed niche for the original wall to show through is a nice touch. The trompe l’oeil is…well, it is remarkable.

Another impressive poperty! Of course I am drawn to the remnants of the oldest bits though I have to admit that all that lovely
trompe l’œil is astounding.

The National Trust really does a fine job maintaining their properties.

The whole place was cut about by different owners so although some of the oldest parts were still there they were often in a different place to where they started!

As members of The National Trust it’s wonderful to see so many gorgeous places for free :)

The Whistler room is fascinating - and I like the tiny glimpse at the original priory. too.

We have 14C and rain today - yesterday wasn't too bad for us.
