Just for clarification (I have a viewing problem), I haven’t seen Ghost Machine, Cyberwoman, or Small Worlds. I do know Cyberwoman, and Ghost Machine fairly well, and have a rough outline of Small Worlds but I’m sure to make some incorrect assumptions based on not having seen them. What an insightful view! I also noticed the lack of team cohesiveness in the episode. I think in a way one of the biggest problem this branch of Torchwood has, and probably why they had not been as effective as they could be ( ... )

I think in a way one of the biggest problem this branch of Torchwood has, and probably why they had not been as effective as they could be. People have been muttering about how Torchwood (the show, not the institute) doesn't seem to have much of a prupose, that they seem to be unsure what to do with the Alien side of the show. I think more than anything it may be simply that the makers of the show are smarter than us, and it is their whole point. None fo the characters know what they are doing, so they're all over the place, getting into trouble. I like that. In some ways it's better than the 'all for one, one for all aspect' you get in a lot of shows.

I think Gwen lacks confidence in her own abilities and even though Jack is there helping her with that, she still looked to Owen for some sort of approval on the appropriate course of action when she held the gun to the cannibal's face. That's an interesting view, and one I hadn't considered, but it does make sense. She has just been through a huge change, it's bound to throw her until ( ... )
