Mother Keeper scanlations....?

Dec 07, 2009 12:18

zaforgotten has brought to my attention that a different scanlation group has scanlated and uploaded chapter 8 of Mother Keeper - when I only scanlated the first 7 chapters so far. By the looks of it, this new group has basically picked up where "I left off at ( Read more... )

Gah. I totally get where you're coming from. It's one thing to scanlate something that hasn't been done for a year, and another where the wait hasn't even been a month. And especially where you don't even bother to ask them.

But I'm thinking that they're not really aware of scanlating etiquette. Anyway, probably best for your sanity to contact them? and convince them to not just upload to mangafox?

Also- I haven't read it yet *hates mangafox* but someone commented there saying that their grammar 'ruined it' ... which if that's true.... oh that's depressing.

Seriously, they should have asked about that. It's not like you would have been all "ARGH" or would have snapped at them for it, but really, it should be courtesy to at least ask if they could scan it. )8

Agreed. Asking is just the way to go! :(

They should have asked you instead of doing it themselves. Seriously.

For example, for my scanlating of DNAngel chapters, Turtle Paradise has clearly dropped it and never said they are going to continue yet so I decided to scanlate the newest chapter that came after a one-year hiatus. Sven if I kind of suck at it.

But just like adela_nightmoon, I really suggest that you contact them as soon as possible.

Good luck in doing that. *hugs*

Yes, asking would've been the perfect way to go.

And what you're doing is absolutely right! ♥ At least you knew that there were no other groups working on it, and you're simply just helping out by continuing it. :) ♥
But here... it's like they assumed I just dropped the series? I know I have been slow recently, but at least I've been able to release AT LEAST one chapter a month. :(

Thanks! So far the only way I can contact them is by private messaging them on crunchyroll, since that's where their group is located at. Though it's a hassle 'cause that means I have to sign up with crunchyroll just to get in contact. ; A;

There doesn't seem to be any other better way :l

Yeah, for the DNAngel chapter, it makes me so happy to see the ranking increase when I finally decided to upload it on MF (don't like it much) and OM (The form is a bit troublesome)

I actually don't read your chapters because I'm too lazy to read it again after reading the Chinese scans long time ago, but monthly releases are good enough. Currently the Chinese scans are still not uploading D<

Argh, crunchyroll, I never go there because I don't bother and I have no use for it... I'm praying for you that it would go well.

Yeah, but at least you pulled through with DNAngel~ It's very neat to see that you are willing to promote DNAngel when no one else has. :)

Haha, I feel for you. I get lazy with rereading material too~ Really? I'm glad monthly releases are a good pace then. It makes the series seem longer, I guess? XD And yeah, I'm kinda sad that there are no updates for Mother Keeper! I'm going to get stuck with no releases unless some new RAWs come out. ; A;

Same here. But, ugh, I guess I just have to sign up so I could contact them... It's a hassle, but a scanlator has got to do what a scanlator does, right?

No worries, it is not wrong for you to feel that way. A group is supposed to inform the other group if they are picking their ongoing project up, it's supposed to be the common courtesy. You've been working hard scanlating this series alone. :) Take in the positive side, if they really are dedicated to release it regularly, you can sit back and do more things related to your fandom. ;)

D'aww, thanks for the lovely comment! /huuugs ;D ♥

And that's very true~ If they really want to do it, I don't mind. The only worry I have about leaving this project in their hands is that I hope they fix their grammar. I read their scanlation of the chapter and the grammar is just... horrible. xD;; Oh, and then I hope they are willing to upload the releases to downloadable sites 'cause I know some people dislike reading manga online and would rather download it.

oh you should have seen wat happen in mangafox's forum on Monochrome Factor. some ppl decided to release a half baked chapter out and she didnt contacted me and yusahana about it. it cause an uproar over the board.

it took like weeks to calm everyone down and its not a happy thing to found out Mother Keeper is having the same problem after that...

geez. of all things. i totally understand how u feel, the need to rant out and ppl to understand our hard work. all the best kazi.

Ouch! I really don't want that to happen to Mother Keeper! D:
It's just so rude that they don't ask when we're putting all of our hard work and effort into it!

Thank you so much! I'm trying to settle this with as less drama as possible. Really, I kinda don't care anymore. I'm still going to use your translations and my skills to release chapters. I'm not going to drop this project after our hard work. There are also a few fans who support us. ;D ♥
