≈ Twenty One [audio/english-common]

Hm.

[Thoughtful Roll is thoughtful today, and also trying to keep her mind off the two days missing from her memory banks.

That and she thinks this could be fun.]

Does anyone know if there is a way to program in a certain vehicle appearance for a car on deck twenty? Just, how the car looks not specs.

[Because she doesn't know the proper ( Read more... )

Yep.

You didn't know about deck twenty, Mister?

Been there. I don't regularly fix to push buttons when I don't rightly know what they do; meanin' to return and forgot.

Harmless, I'm guessin'.

They turn on the racing simulator though. So yeah harmless, it helps if you go an watch others first.

So, kind of harmless in a way that that kind of technology can be harmless.

Well. I know chocobos come in a lot of colors, each kind has specific abilities... what kind of terrain they're capable of traveling across.

I think it's some sort of territory thing.

Adaptation, it makes sense.

[She doesn't know what a chocobo is, but then again she avoided the animal options on deck twenty.]

Good breeding, actually. It's not uncommon for a green chocobo to have two yellow parents who come from a long line of yellows.

They can all cross plains and foothills, blue ones are a little better and can cross rivers too. Green chocobos can't cross water but can cross mountains like it's nobody's buisiness.

Black ones are harder to breed, but can do what both green and blue ones can. They can't cross deep water, which is fine long as you don't mind taking the long way around coasts or hauling them on boats.

Gold ones're what most people consider the best, they can go wherever they want and tend to be loyal.

There's also white, red and brown ones but they're not too much different from yellows in speed or anything. White ones tend to be a tad smarter and good at finding materia out in the wild and red ones like to fight. Brown ones are just... brown really. If you're somewhere and you don't want to stick out around rocks and stuff they're good to have.

[Oh gosh, all of that kind of went right over her head Reno.]

So, um... What is a chocobo anyway? Some kind of horse?

[Jinx has really put a lot of thought into this. So much so, that he is only now replying.

He really doesn't plan on racing, but just Roll mentioning specs, even if she didn't want help with them, pinged Jinx so hard.]

I think it's less programming and more physically customizing. Ya' know, changing th' paint an' the shell...shit like that.

I kind of want to make it a permanent car on the roster though, Mister Jinx. I think modifications reset once the simulation is shut down.

[A pause]

That and I doubt I can make the shell by myself with parts available on the ship. This is a... really unique looking car.

I think th' important thing is how it drives, not how it looks.

An' it's Jinx.

In this case? The driving can be easily fixed and adjusted, how it looks is important... This is a gift for a friend, Mister Jinx, if I can do it.

A Battle and Chase? Sounds like fun! I didn't know that we had horses on board.

Yep, Mister Percedal. Only the one back home wasn't done with horses, it was done with cars and robots.

[Totally forgetting that Sadlygrove comes from a low tech world.]

And only on deck twenty. The horses are only there I mean.

Cars? What's a car? It sounds like a fish.

Oh, great! I've always wanted to ride a horse! You don't see a lot of horses around back at home...

[Oh right...] It's a horseless carriage.

You may need helping getting to the horses though.
