I am so addicted. Their colors and their feathers and just everything about them are so cool. I also googled this particular fellow and his (her?) name is apparently Sweetpea. :0
You do always seem to have a good time at anthrocon!
On a side note, what are you doing on Sunday August 14th? And, if you aren't doing anything would you like to get lunch that day?
(I'm moving down to DC that weekend and was just checking my route and saw that I was coming ridiculously close to CT and figured it might be nice to see you in person!)
p.s. everybody else has a bird icon except me, but I seem to remember that you liked this icon (it's the best I can do.)
Yes! There are three species that fly right overhead! :D Next year if you're at Anthrocon, you should come with us to the Aviary! The admission for the raptor flight show is only an extra $5, and it's totally worth it.
Yesss :D Sage identified it last night, too. I knew it was a pigeon of some sort but couldn't remember what type. So beautiful.
Maybe if you come next year, we can make a day out of it on Monday! I got there just as they opened at 10:00, then went to the 10:30 Wetlands feeding, the 11:00 raptor show, and the 12:00 Wings show. It was marvelous.
And hopefully next time the falcon decides to go after the lure and not be lazy :[ *shakes fist*
