Now why would someone create a new account and just request to be friended by a total stranger?

I hate having an account there, but I'd created it mainly to keep an eye on the kids' accounts and make sure no one freaky is talking to them.

It took a few months of refusing those requests before they finally stopped coming. The only reason I joined was so I could reply to my brother's band page. Not sure it was worth all the spammy requests to friend.
