Rapid City, South Dakota embarked on a public art project in 2000, consisting of statues of all past presidents of the United States on various street corners downtown. They've caught up to George W Bush, and I gather Mr Obama's is in the works and will appear after the next election. My favorite is the one of Thomas Jefferson (see below) but they'

Rapid City is where my Great-grandfather first settled after coming to the US. I need to go there someday.

I wonder when they'll do the great Native American leaders? ;)

I'd like to see the Crazy Horse Memorial finished, myself - they started it two years before I was born and at this rate they may still be at it long after I'm gone... There seems to be something about South Dakota to do with sculptures of all sizes. :)
