We went to Cleveland to see the Rent tour this weekend. Because it's Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal, and because this is the farewell tour and it's closed on Broadway now and this would probably be the last time we ever saw it

I can understand not being able to afford tickets. I've been there before myself, and it sucks. But if you can save at all - even just a little - there might be a few options. For this particular show, I think I'd even be willing to sit in the way back. The voices and music are so compelling that you'd still be pulled in by the music - you'd only miss some facial expressions, but no actions (in my opinion).
Also, some theaters offer lotteries. So you could put your name in the drawing and get a ticket for a cheaper price. I think the lottery tickets were offered for $20 at this particular location. Maybe it's something to look into? :)
The lotteries are usually held the afternoon of the show, and I have to work. But I think I'm going to use a credit card. I hate to use it, but considering I haven't actually put a charge on it in months, I'll be good. :-D
