I dunno exactly what that mem is about, but I shall find out, shan't I? How about Cutler Beckett from the POTC family?

1. He began his career stationed in Glasgow asan underling to a man who, it was rumoured, poisoned his brother's wife and children.

2. Beckett was promoted when that man suddenly disappeared. The story goes that a woman escaped from the local asylum and forced him up into the Highlands, where she murdered him and followed his soul into the Land of the Dead. If anyone suspected that Beckett was involved in the incident, they didn't speak of it.

3. Some months later, Beckett received a parcel containing a shrunken human hand, the fingers webbed with red and yellow string. He keeps it on his person (usually hidden in the cuffs of his coat) to protect him from betrayal.

Is that the reason Mercer didn't betray him all this while? :D

1. He has a younger brother named Alton. Alton is actually his half-brother, but neither Alton nor James' father know this. James found out when he was 14 and returned to sea, knowing that a man can be deserving of goodness and not receive it. Also that ignorance prevents many hurts.

2. His idol and mentor was his first captain, Captain Andrews. Thirteen years ago, Captain Andrews collapsed at the prow of his ship, fingers reaching for a dark shape in the fog ahead. As the captain lay dying later, he gave James a sliver of a baroque black pearl: long, bubbled, and swirled with color. He told James, "This is your heart. Hold it close and do not trust it ( ... )

Yay for Alton, the man who is also a horse, in a completely unambiguous way. :P

If only I could remember why he's a horse! I'm sure one of our conversations took a bizarre turn somewhere.

Black Pearl, the ship.

1. Hidden in the steering box is a baroque black pearl: long, bubbled, and swirled with color. A sliver has been cut off ( ... )

I've been working on this thing since DMC came out. No writing, no outline, just me making stuff up. I jumped on the meme as a way to blatantly spout all of this stuff. >P Finally, it SPEAKS!

Elizabeth's father's wig.

Daaaaaamn youuuuu! ::shakes fist:: FINE.

1. The wig gets powdered lightly every morning. On particularly anthropomorphic days, it shivers in delight.

2. Elizabeth snuck into her father's dressing room one evening when she was twelve and tried on the wig. She twirled around and around and around in the grey-pink dusk light, and the wig flaps flew out like the sturdy wings of an albatross.

3. While brushing the wig, a maid once pulled a curl drastically askew. She frantically patted it down with spit and reshaped it, but thereafter it tended to poke out on muggy days. Sometimes when the maid is standing behind the Governor, the uncurled curl looks like an accusatory finger.

Don't forget to request a snippet!

I'm just glad to hear you made it through, even though I left early.

By the way, the sex was great.
