I want fic about this, where the ring/proposal is an incredibly important plot point in the middle of some dangerous situation. E.g., "Wear this, Frodo! It'll protect you!"

But of course, it is also a proposal because that's how they roll

*laugh* Jim has to be on one end or the other of this somehow. Maybe this is how Gaila asserts her ownership when they're captured by Orions.

Hey, remember my idea from a billion years ago last summer that Orions can switch genders in response to the environment? E.G., in a physically stressful situation where greater strength is advantageous, Gaila would bulk up, then she could remodel back in a feminine form when the situation changes.

So, you know, she throws the ring to Jim at the beginning of the captivity, and over the next few months 1) Jim is her kept boy and 2) Gaila is becoming more buff, until she can overpower him easily, and thus Jim spends most of the captivity being baffled and aroused.

I remember that AWESOME idea of AWESOME, and am enjoying the thought of baffled, aroused, oiled up slaveboy Jim. Possibly more than I should.
