This was...whooo. Wow. Intense. There are SO many things I liked about it, not least of all the awkwardness and control-freak-ness with which Chris approached the entire thing. I love it that it wasn't overly sweet and romantic, because it just wouldn't be real, and this was VERY real.

This line in particular resonated with me - Her body is like a sturdy tool or a child's favorite toy; it can be battered and soiled, maybe, but never ill-used. It sums up so much about both characters and how they treat themselves and - I think, in Chris's case - himself. I really can't say enough good things about this fic, and your grasp of both characters.

Thank you so much for your detailed comment! My initial goal for this (which came about after there was some discussion in fandom about gender dysphoria re: sexswap) was to write a sexswap fic in which the trope of "helping them get comfortable in their new body" lead to really awful sex-- because that was more realistic. So I'm really glad to hear that it felt real for you!

And oh, gosh, writing these characters is so tricky (especially Winona-- so little screentime! not fair!) I really appreciate the assurance that they're IC here, despite the strange situation. You know, I hadn't realized that line you picked out could be applied to Pike as well as Winona, but now that I think about it you're totally right. (Maybe it's a Starfleet thing. >P)
