Thankyouthankyouthankyou for this fic. I've been so frustrated with the Tim I've seen this season that this completely helps.

It's like folks think that after ten years Tony is still there on a fluke.

Yeah... Tim has annoyed me of late. Especially tonight with the whole Johns Hopkins thing...

Tony is there for a reason. Gibbs would have kicked him out before Kate showed up otherwise.

These were nifty and damn skippy! Why the frilly heck was everyone riding/ignoring Tony tonight? Of course I do love, love that Gibbs picked Tony to go with him rather Ziva after she acted like an ass.

*huggles Tony*

That was my favorite part of the episode. Gibbs likes Tony-babble a whole lot more than Ziva-babble. And I don't think he was too happy with Ziva picking on Tony either.

:-)

Darn drabble bunny....

Oh, if only something like this really happened and cured Tim of his insufferable smugness! I'd even be ok with one mention of Johns Hopkins... that can be excused as the old insecure!Tim trying to convince himself as well as everyone around him that he could manage... but repeatedly? Ugh.

And, yeah... *loved* Gibbs choosing Tony over catty!Ziva!

Yeah, one mention of Johns Hopkins or his other degrees wouldn't have bothered me. He earned those degrees, so sure he can mention them. But there's a line between mentioning/being proud of your degrees and being smug about your degrees because others don't have those degrees.

Oh, I hated smug McGee in Toxic. He should have listened to Tony. I also hated the smug look he gave to Tony when they told him about Ziva's dinner party.

Thanks! In light of a "McGee is awesome and it serves Tony right" post over on an NCIS comm, I'm really thinking about writing a detailed McGee/Tony and how they interact from season 1 to present summary.

I got to thinking that in all fairness, McGee won the first round of the DiNozzo-McGee ongoing battle. Tony told him he wasn't Abby's type and at the end, McGee not only had a lunch date with Abby, but also left Tony speechless in regards to the tattoo on his butt.

I really think that when you get down to the little things, they come out even more often than not, but McGee hits on Tony's more sensitive topics than Tony hits on McGee's.

Well, I think I know what my evening will be spent doing. :-)

Great story as always. I know that Tony can seem to be incompetent at times but then he comes back with some amazing insight that help cracks the case or knows exactly when to be serious and on the ball. My personal opinion is that Gibbs lets him get away with being the goofball because he knows that there's more to Tony than that, even if it seems that Tony doesn't see the hidden potential in himself, and he can count on Tony to be at the top of his game when the situation calls for it.

I've always liked McGee and there's nothing wrong with him growing a spine and gaining some self confidence but I don't like smug/arrogant McGee!

I'm amused by the fact that McGee has the bio med engineering degree, along with at least one undergrad degree (the bio med one is his grad degree, correct?), but yet the ones who analyzed the DNA were Jimmy and Tony.

I think someone said the bio med was his undergrad and the computer one was his grad.

I'm thinking of writing a lengthy look into the give/take between Tony and McGee and see exactly who comes out on top... I guess kind of a meta/discussion.
