When Gibbs returned from Mexico, he was at a loss. He knew he couldn't stay with the Marines. While he still had the desire to serve and protect his country and his fellow Marines, the thought of being gone weighed heavily on him. If he'd only been home, Shannon and Kelly-

He abruptly stopped that line of thinking. He couldn't think about them at all. It hurt too damn much. Instead, he just kept the pedal pushed down and the heavy music of the radio cranked high. He didn't care where he was going. He didn't care about much at all.

He woke sluggishly, the effects of the alcohol showing itself in the pounding of his head. He tried to roll over, but was stopped by a heavy weight draped over him. He froze as he became suddenly alert, taking in his surroundings
