I haven't even been watching this season after the first few eps. Then there was my parents house fire which derailed several long fics I was working ( Read more... )

They're getting there... They're still arranging in the new place and will be for some time to come. Still have many things from the old house boxed up to sort through as well.

Callie is living her second childhood I think. Although she reverted back to her crying stage she had when she was younger which can get annoying. She also has a toy mouse army that she migrates from the floor to bed with my mom every night.

They just got one last check from the insurance company for living expenses and debris cleanup. If the fire department gives them a bill, then they can get one more check to cover that. But the fire department hasn't, any of the ones that responded, all of which are volunteer.

I hope to get some of my long fics finished this year. I have Slave!Gibbs, Vamp!NCIS, Brothers and I think there's one more floating around on my computer. I also want finish some of the prompt requests I've taken and never finished. Oh! And Xanthe's Haiti fic needs to be finished. So there are fics in the works. :-)

I'm glad they're taking steps forward. I can't imagine how hard it has been on them...and on Callie too! The toy mouse army is too cute and touching.

Do volunteer fire departments bill? I had no idea!

YAY! Fics to be finished :)

It's based on the area I think. I think where my parents are at, they don't have to, but if the ones involve say that insurance will cover x-amount, they will so they can recoup some money. My parents are in a very poor economic area, so the volunteer people don't get much money raised. My mom was going to have my dad remind one of them that the insurance would pay some and to give them a bill.

Near me is where that one family lost their house and the fire department couldn't respond from the nearest town because the family lived outside the limit and didn't pay their $75 fee to have fire service. At least my parents had 4-5 stations respond.
