That cannot be real. Surely. Personally I prefer the spangly trouser types at eurovision.... Will these orcs get any votes?

I suspect that your best bet to see Lordi will be to watch the Semi finals. Spangly trousered euro pop or ballads are usually the winners it's true.

ah yes, because of all the new countries in europe entering the contest these days there's just too many to fit into one night so now they have a semi final to knock some out. Some countries (like UK) who contribute a lot of cash to the contest go automatically to the final no matter how rubbish they are. Semis are on the 18th I think.

What do they sound like?! Does it matter? I can't wait - it's almost as scary as your carrot finger...

I sadly haven't heard them yet but I've enjoyed reading the lyrics on the eurovision website. Especially the use of the word Arockalypse.

That's great! I seem to recall another heavy Finnish group that was something like 'moomintroll' or somesuch name. I don't think they had costumes straight out of Thriller, though.

So much of my enjoyment of Eurovision is about the costumes and performance. Have you been here long enough to see one before? Amanda watched it with us last year and I seem to remember she was gripped. I'm hoping there is some kind of transformation aspect to their costumes. My favourite Eurovision perfomances usually involve some kind of dress into mini skirt moment.

Ah, Finland.

I could probably track down those family members of mine who did not emigrate, but the thought isn't very tempting. I do like to wander the streets blinking over the fact that people look like my cousins though.
