OMG. YES. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I hate it when ppl are like, "Here's chapter 3, guys." So you read it and realize that they spent 1000 words watching someone get dressed and be introspective and you're like

Ha, awesome GIF. But yeah, seriously. I mean, there are obviously exceptions -- keeping a collection/series of ficlets as "chapters" of one work, or deliberately using AO3 chapters as scenes and then posting several "chapters" at a time, or what have you. But the trend of posting like 500 words bites of fic is kind of a pet peeve of mine. I'd rather wait another week until there's actually a legit chapter to read than those constant teases. (Possibly this is part of why I really dislike Tumblr as a platform for fic.)

This is so true, they're so messed up and I love them so much even if I feel like I should recommend my therapist to every last one of them :D
