WHONIVERSE FANS. You have failed me! I realize that many of us (including me) tend to overlook SJA. I am very guilty of this myself. I've seen a handful of SJA episodes and enjoyed them all, and yet I keep failing to watch the whole series properly.

But guys, the Doctor was in the latest episode. THERE CAN BE NEW ELEVEN IN MY LIFE RIGHT NOW.

eeee, you're finally watching A:tLA! You're going to love Toph even more as things go continue, but SOKKA IS ABSOLUTELY MY FAVORITE. Except maybe for Iroh, I have a hard time deciding especially in the third season. There is one episode in the third season that is pretty much the epitome of both Sokka and Iroh being awesome, not together but just randomly in different places at the same time, and it is MY FAVORITE EVER.

...sorry, dead from squee. Man I love that show to death.

I actually had the opposite reaction to Aang and Sokka -- I loved Aang from pretty much his first appearance, whereas Sokka's teenage boy asshole moments grated on me during the first season. I'm a sucker for overly excitable and happy preteen protagonists, though, and by the second season I was over any lingering Sokka-distaste and loved everybody!

Also, though I got into the series too late to be part of the fandom, I have heard that the Big Ship War was between Aang/Katara fans and Zuko/Katara fans, so you're definitely not alone there.

I MISSED HIM TOO. IT WAS GLORIOUS. AND THE GIRLS WERE GLORIOUS. AND EVERYTHING ABOUT THAT WAS HILARIOUS. I need to start watching this show again.

Avatar: The Last Airbender may be the best "children's show" EVER.

Just wait until you get to the third season; Sokka truly comes into his own, and by the end of the show he's a wise-cracking, snarky badass.
