Took me a while to get around to watching the House season finale, what with finals and all, but I made sure to fully spoil myself for it in preparation. There was so much doomsday talk!
I very much liked it too. I think that the manner of each of them leaving was well done and resolved a whole story for them from the start of the first ep. (Especially the unaired pilot, where Foreman asked Chase and Cameron how long they've been there and Cameron's answering House's mail.)
Plus, if they could bring back those three students from "Three Stories"? I would be ALL OVER THAT. Oh, me, too!
I just hope the writers actually follow up the groundwork they've laid, rather than just putting everyone back into their usual roles without acknowledging that things have changed.
If it were the West Wing, or even more so Spooks, I'd trust them to do that. To start season four six months after the end of season three with a completely new team, bringing one of the old team back for a consult as a way to introduce the new team.
The House writers seem to have shown an understanding of the story these characters have gone, through, so I'm optimistic.
