Nice Gesture

I had a morning from Hell. With 2 of my kids just generally not listening to me and the 3yr old not getting dressed. Needless to say once I dropped them off at the sitter I was a bit stressed. I decided even though I didn't have time I would stop at Tim Horton's and get coffee and when I got close I noticed there was no line up at the drive thru ( Read more... )

When I still lived the the San Fran area, I would give the bridge toll guy a $5 and pay for the guy behind me.

Penn Jillette (of Penn & Teller) has a hilarious chapter in his book about buying jello for as many people as possible when ever he has the chance. I am paraphasing here, but the general idea goes something like this, "It's a $1.50 for pete's sake! I can buy a whole diner full of people a tasty treat for less than the cost of cab fare! And who doesn't like jello?"

lol, I love the Penn story! I love the idea that it can take so little to make someones day! hmmm, the cynical side of me wonders how ofter the toll taker just kept the extra...

Well, I have never heard of that happening before but, yes, it is such a nice thing. The best part is that she doesn't know you and it swells the heart....Yea, I think that is a great idea.....
