There is no easy way to "break into" comic just as there is no easy way to break into writing. Sometimes you get lucky. Sometimes your work catches the eye of just the right person, and you leap to the front of the line. Having written stories and drawn images, I don't see where either a writer or an artist can look down on the other for their work being 'easy', both jobs are difficult, I guess maybe I can see that because I do both, it literally takes different sides of my brain to do either task and sometimes I can't write and draw in the same week.

(but that's something else)

But I think Miss Plum is still gonna have a problem even if she goes to comic cons and finds artists she wants to work with, they will still have to be convinced to work with her, and with that attitude, pickin's will be slim.

Maus winning a Pultizer and Persepolis having international acclaim (and made into a film) is limited success? I'd love some of that limited success myself!
