Today manga cartoonist Deb Aoki -- who I'm told was kinda popular some years back, but I think it was during my "I don't pay attention" years -- Tweet:
# pretty cool! check out @FIXITMag - a new quarterly comics/illustration mag that's lookin' to get off the ground.

I do think she would appreciate your comments - I knew about F*X*T from pretty far back so all those 'what is this??" questions never arose when the website finally launched lol.
anyway thanks for posting about this! i'll try to check out the website again later and drop fawn an email
cheers!

Nothing personally against F*X*T, mind you! I got the feeling it was a sincere project, but considering how many people advertise big ideas but lack the knowledge and/or experience to carry thing out, I'm wary of anyone planning to publish now. I blame the internet. And elves. Not the pretty Lineage 2 kind, but the creepy small ones that like to make shoes.
After following links, I noticed Fawn did the Colors Book* I heard about, I think, from you. So that's good. Having a past project done really helps. In my opinion, though, she ought to really tout her experience and past work with each new project, essentially saying say, "Hey no worries. It might not make you $$$, but I'm going to get this done." From what I infer, the artists aren't paid upfront, but they get something later, maybe, like a percentage of net or gross sales? Or is it a charity project?
* Was it you who contributed to Colors?

The cheapest logo I ever did was $250, for a local real estate agent, who was a friend of the family. For a supposedly big corporation the price had better be closer to $5000.

P.S. If you (or tongari) talk to Fawn, you may want to suggest she to talk to Deb Aoki who mentioned writing a blog post about it to be sure there's no accidental misinformation.
