Most excellent.

If you're trying to differentiate which regions various works originally came from you'd use "correct" terminology, but in normal conversation insistence on such makes you sound like a pedantic fool. More and more "manga" seems to refer simply to the general art style used in the comic.

Perfect. Reminds me of my youngest sister-in-law; that's the kind of idiotic snobbery she would pull. Kudos for how they dealt with the situation.
