Okay, I just posted, but I was thinking about this a lot last night. So, here's me speculating about Dollhouse again:

Oh, please try! I am desperate to know other people's thoughts and theories! And yes, it needs to be Friday right now so the reasons behind the blood can be revealed.

I remember hearing about the theories that Dominic was Whiskey's handler back when the episode where they wiped him came out. I had definitely thought that Claire was a doll, but I wasn't positive about it until that episode. I had kind of forgotten about it until you brought it up, but now I'm wondering more. Does Claire have a handler now? I mean, she IS programmed, so is there someone out there who is able to turn her "off" if they needed to? It also makes me wonder about the effects of repeated engagements on the brain. Who checks her out ( ... )

I just showed the last couple episodes of Season 1 to a friend who didn’t get that Claire was a Doll until the explicit reveal, and I realized I couldn’t remember when I had clued in on that. I was watching the episodes after they had aired, but I don’t think I was spoiled. I hadn’t looked into the fandom at all. I don’t think I thought anything of Dominic’s remark at the time, but I remember expecting the reveal when she stepped out of the lights in the flashback. I guess I must have got it either while Alpha was threatening her or when she told Topher about him asking if she had always wanted to be a doctor. It’s weird that I can’t remember figuring that one out. It was a big reveal, and it wasn’t all that long ago ( ... )

Yeah, I don’t think it’s likely or anything, but I maintain that it’s plausible! After all, Echo’s had, what, five handlers that we’ve seen? (Samuelson, Boyd, the guy who replaced Boyd, that douche before Ballard, and Ballard?) And I would think that, as a spy, Dominic would want to build up a great deal of trust, which could be earned by doing very well in a lower position. Also, Boyd seems like the exception rather than the rule as far as caring for the Dolls go. The other handlers shown don’t seem to think very highly of their Actives. Yeah, it’s probably not true. If it is, I will be very proud of myself, though.Ooh, I would love to read a fic about Adelle or someone else seeing their interactions on a security camera. I love outsider perspectives on complicated character relationships. Is there a name for that kind of fic, or is it just a watered-down voyeurism thing? I don’t know, but I would read a fic about Boyd and Ballard arguing over who’s buying the snacks on their buddy cop movie roadtrip if it was from the store clerk’s ( ... )
