If Kosh is into Thomas, and you need an excuse to get down to Southern California in early november, note that Thomas is usually down at OERM (Orange Empire Railway Museum, www.oerm.org) in Perris the weekend before and the weekend after Veterans Day, plus Veterans Day. We normally volunteer for Veterans Day -- I'm usually a car attendant somewhere on the Thomas train, and my wife is usually working the Thomas merchandise tent. If you come down one year, let us know.
Heh, good to know. Honestly, I suspect that promising him a trip to a different train museum would do for convincing Josh - he's the reason we've had a membership to the California State Railroad Museum for the last couple of years. He still likes Thomas, but is becoming a bigger fan of the "real trains" (as he said this morning)
If he's less into Thomas, you can coordinate (and save money) on a weekend when Thomas isn't there, but there is a special event (like a spring railfest, etc.) Look at the webpage for info. If you let us know, we can make sure we're theatre-free that weekend and meet you.
