TV, TV, and more TV

There are some shows that I always mean to catch up on but never really do. So every once in awhile I make a poll and ask you which of the following shows would be good to catch up on first:

Poll TV Show Catch-Up

It's also that time of year again: Fall TV season. Under the cut are the new and returning shows I'll be watching.

TV Schedule )

glee, self-indulgent spam, tv, fringe, shows i will probably only watch once, tbbt, bones, house, psych, sgu, criminal minds, poll

I don't watch Eureka but D does, and he said it's been pretty amazing. Castle is always great and it's about to start back up so now's a good time to catch up.

And the one in the comments is Leverage. Leverage is love. TRUFAX.

Eureka and Warehouse 13! I watch all of those except for Castle.

Heh, Castle seems to be winning at the moment, but I think maybe I'll go with Eureka first. I watched the first two seasons, and I recently caught a new episode. Now I'm really curious about all the changes and the stuff that led up to them!

I worry about Psych too, mostly because I think they are all over the place in the characterization of Shawn, Lassiter, and Juliet. I love Shawn, but I want him to be more like he was in Seasons One-Three. And I dislike Henry in the station. But I have loved many episodes this season so it's still my favorite show. White Collar, another USA show I love, is supposedly returning around the same time, so I don't think the early return is ominous, though. Hope not, at least ( ... )

From reading around, I think I have unpopular opinions when it comes to Psych, so I don't say much about it. Suffice to say that I've seen in a lot of places that people want earlier-seasons Shawn back, except I really disagree that he's significantly different now, and I think what differences exist are not only necessary for the character but make him more interesting. After season four being kind of a disappointment (there were a lot of episodes I loved, but too many clunkers to see the season as a complete success), I've really loved season five and think they're getting back on the right track after a slight wobble. But those are really, really unpopular opinions.

I've really enjoyed Psych season 5 so far; I hope I didn't give the opposite impression. Have a lot of people been complaining? (Outside of the peeps at Television Without Pity, who are always harsh in their critiques.) Shoot. This show can't get cancelled! I mean, I know everything has to end sometime, but I thought it's been getting a lot of good publicity lately. Out of the many, many shows I watch, it's still my favorite ( ... )

Oh, no, I didn't get that impression at all! I guess I'm just a little frustrated with the fandom right now because it seems like the only people actually talking about the show are the ones who hate this season (on LJ and TWOP--I know I shouldn't read TWOP, but occasionally there's good discussion about the show there. Very occasionally. The problem is it's pretty much the only place with discussion about the show, and I know Psych isn't something you can really have deep, involved discussion about, but maybe just a little bit would be nice?).

Lassiter is weird this season, I agree. I don't know it if really bothers me, because I don't watch for him. I love the character, but I've always thought of him and Juliet as supporting players in a show centering around Shawn and Gus. If there was an episode without Lassie at all, I'd think it strange, wonder if there was something going on with the actor, and shrug. If there was an episode without Gus, I'd be throwing temper tantrums about it, because how can you have an episode without Gus ( ... )

My shows are Sons of Anarchy (just started again) and True Blood (which kinda sucked this season, IMO). I'm mildly offended by the new Nikita show - bc I adored Peta Wilson in the 90's.

I'm weirdly offended by the new Nikita show, too, even though I was never a fan of it. I guess I'm just weary of all the remakes, because I'm offended by the new Hawaii Five-O, and I don't know the first thing about the original or the new one.

I'm adding to the chorus of Leverage love! It's my favourite show right now, even above Doctor Who (maybe).
